One in 10 American women reports a medically confirmed urinary tract infection (UTI) every year. Combined with the rise of antibiotic resistance in the treatment of cystitis, this has prompted the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology to amend their guidelines on traditional UTI therapy for women of reproductive age.
