Samir Mehta, MD, is the chief of orthopaedic trauma at Penn Medicine. He completed his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at the University of Washington Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Mehta’s clinical interests include pelvic and acetabular fractures, peri-articular fractures, limb salvage, nonunions and malunions. His research interests include the biomechanics of orthopaedic trauma constructs, biomechanics of healing and clinical outcomes. Dr. Mehta is an active member in numerous societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), AO North America, AO Trauma and the American Orthopaedic Association.
