Robin L Dalal, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She earned her BS from the University of Georgia and her MD from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. Dr Dalal completed her internship, residency, chief residency, and gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Her research interests include quality of care and psychosocial care in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Dr Dalal has published on gastroenterologists’ role in the management of perianal fistulas in the journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics of North America; her recent work evaluating treatment options for patients with perianal Crohn’s disease appears in Current Problems in Surgery and her investigations into the link between depression and noncompliance among patients undergoing anti-tumor necrosis factor therapy for IBD has been published in Digestive Diseases and Sciences. The book Telemanagement of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, released by Springer International Publishing in 2015, includes a chapter Dr Dalal co-authored on the factors that can prevent successful health outcomes among patients with IBD. She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the America College of Gastroenterology, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
