Dr. Christopher Van Tilberg is an emergency room physician, a ski patrol doctor, an emergency wilderness physician, and a member of the Hood River Crag Rats, the oldest mountain rescue team in the country. In addition to writing seven books, he serves as Editor-in-Chief for Wilderness Medicine, the official magazine for the Wilderness Medical Society, for which he writes a column called "Great Gear for Work and Play." He also serves as a member of the Medical Committee of the Mountain Rescue Association.
