    Dr. Spagnuola is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon, Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine (shoulder and knee injuries.) A New Jersey native, he graduated with honors from Villanova University in 1992 and then continued his education at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He graduated medical school in 1996 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Following medical school, he trained for five years in orthopedics at Monmouth Medical Center, including six months of pediatric orthopedic training at Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania. Dr. Spagnuola completed his training with a year of sub-specialty training in sports medicine and shoulder injuries at Thomas Jefferson University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Spagnuola is one of the physicians who heads Seaview Sports Medicine and is an experienced team physician. On the professional level, he is the team physician to the Lakewood BlueClaws, Ocean County Community College and Ocean Township High School. In the past he has worked at the NCAA level as the assistant team physician for Saint Joseph’s University, Haverford College. Dr. Spagnuola also has been an assistant team physician for the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Wings National Lacrosse team. Dr. Spagnuola specializes in arthroscopic surgery. Arthroscopic stabilization of shoulder dislocations and rotator cuff repairs are his area of expertise. In the knee, he is well versed at anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction as well as meniscal repair. He also specializes in the treatment of cartilage repair. Dr. Spagnuola is certified to perform Autologous Condrocyte Implantation to repair areas of cartilage loss in the knee. In addition to his treatment of these sports medicine injuries.
