Axel Grothey, MD, is a Professor of Oncology and Consultant in the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is the Vice Chair of the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG) and the Co-Chair of the NCCTG Gastrointestinal Committee. He serves on the review board of numerous professional journals. In addition, he is widely published in many peer-reviewed journals. Dr Grothey’s major areas of clinical interest are gastrointestinal malignancies, in particular, colorectal cancer, unknown primaries, and neuroendocrine tumors.
