Anne F. Lake, DNP, FNP-C, CCD, ONP-C

    Anne F. Lake, DNP, FNP-C, CCD, ONP-C, is an experienced nurse practitioner with a doctorate in nursing practice (DNP). She is certified in both family practice and orthopaedics. Her clinical focus is on chronic disease management of osteoporosis within an orthopaedic specialty clinic at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She is the program developer and director of the Fracture Liaison Service at this large academic healthcare system and engages in clinical practice caring for the patient identified as having a fragility fracture or is at high risk for osteoporosis and future fractures.

    Dr. Lake is on the advisor panel as a consultant for both the National Osteoporosis Foundation and National Bone Health Alliance and is an active board member of the North Carolina Osteoporosis Foundation.  She has been identified by her peers as a leader in current bone health initiatives and discloses that she is currently active as an advisor and speaker for Lilly Pharmaceuticals on an integrated approach to care for the patient with osteoporosis at high risk for fracture using a care coordinated model.

    As an experienced clinician she has spoken both locally and nationally advocating early identification of patients at risk for osteoporosis and helping to define current best practice guidelines and quality improvement programs for the reduction of future fractures in this high risk population.

    Dr. Lake is an active member of the International Society of Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) and holds current certification as a certified clinician with the ISCD.
