The goal “Cardiovascular Controversies” is to increase knowledge of the new ACC/AHA cholesterol guidelines; raise awareness of the persistence of cardiovascular risk, especially in patients who have familial hypercholesterolemia or who are statin intolerant; and introduce new/emerging research and mechanisms of action for lipid lowering therapies to improve the care of patients with dyslipidemia.
