    The career fields of health informatics and healthcare analytics continue to experience significant growth, a pattern expected to continue for at least the next decade. What’s driving this need for more health informaticists and analysts?

    Dr. Robert Deschenes and Dr. Athanasios Tsalatsanis, nationally renowned experts and educators in health informatics from USF Health’s Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida, join host Tim Rush to talk about the latest innovations from the field and their novel programs advancing this cause. 

    Dr. Deschenes' research combines computational biology, bioinformatics and genetics in an interdisciplinary effort to understand cancer and neurological disorders.  He oversees the graduate and postdoctoral programs of USF Health’s Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida.

    Dr. Tsalatsanis is an active researcher and professor in USF Health’s Morsani College of Medicine. His research interests are in the areas of medical decision making and health informatics, subjects about which he has published more than forty research articles and abstracts.
