Current Trends in Medical Practices

In the world of employment, physicians are a unique group because such a high percentage are self-employed. Traditionally, many or most doctors had their own practice or worked in a partnership with a small group of doctors. But the percentage of physician-owned practices is beginning to shrink, while hospital-owned practices are increasing. Will the independent small medical practice become a thing of the past?
