  • Overview

MAPK inhibitors have expanded treatment options for pediatric low-grade gliomas, but adverse events can present challenges throughout the treatment journey. With this in mind, Dr. Alexandria May speaks with pediatric nurse practitioners Bridget Archambault and Shannon Raber about strategies for identifying and managing cutaneous, cardiac, ophthalmologic, and gastrointestinal toxicities. They also discuss the value of multidisciplinary care, patient and family counseling, and individualized symptom management to help patients remain on therapy when safe and appropriate. Ms. Archambault is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner in neuro-oncology at Duke Children's Health Center and the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center in Durham, North Carolina, and Ms. Raber is an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals in San Francisco, California.
