  • Overview

The single best predictor of a future chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation is having had one before. However, exacerbations are still under-addressed beyond the acute event, despite their lasting impact on lung function and mortality risk. In this episode of On the Frontlines of Obstructive Lung Diseases, Dr. Shelina Ramnarine sits down with Dr. MeiLan Han to discuss how to identify at-risk patients, escalate treatment using eosinophil counts and biologics, and build a prevention strategy that goes beyond medication alone. Dr. Han is a Professor of Medicine and the Chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Michigan Health.
