    When evaluating treatment options for patients with transthyretin amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM), functional capacity and quality of life are crucial to take into account. That's why the HELIOS-B trial, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology in May 2025, assessed the impact of vutrisiran by looking at six-minute walk test and Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire Overall Summary scores. Dr. Farooq Sheikh, a co-author of the study, joins Ryan Quigley to discuss the results of HELIOS-B and the importance of functional capacity and quality of life alongside traditional objective endpoints. Dr. Sheikh is the Medical Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Program at MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
