    In the past 40 years Medical Assistants have become a crucial part of Ghana's healthcare system.  The MAs as their called are the equivalent to PAs in the U.S.  For the past 40 years the 500  Medical Assistants have been trained at the Kintampo Rural Health Training School.  Dr. Emmanuel Teye Adjase, Director of the school joins host Lisa D'Andrea Lenell to discuss the pros and cons of the health system in Ghana, how the school is changing with the times, and the country's vision for a national healthcare plan.
