  • Overview

Despite achieving target-range blood pressure, many patients are still at risk for cardiovascular events. Recent research shows, however, that albuminuria can be a key marker of this hidden risk, helping uncover early signs of endothelial dysfunction and guiding more precise risk stratification. Joining Dr. Gates Colbert to discuss the importance of this biomarker in patients with target blood pressure and strategies for incorporating it into routine hypertension care are Drs. Michael Hall and Clyde Yancy. Dr. Hall is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine, the Patrick H. Lehan Chair of Cardiovascular Research, and the Director of Clinical and Population Studies at the Mississippi Center for Clinical and Translational Research at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Yancy is the Chief of Cardiology Medicine and a Professor of Cardiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
