  • Overview

In this activity, Drs. Emma Culver (gastroenterologist and hepatologist) and Louisa Catherine Firmin (gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary radiologist) discuss how to work through the differential diagnosis of a case presenting with painless obstructive jaundice, weight loss and change in bowel habit with serology and histopathologic studies to diagnose IgG4-related pancreatitis and autoimmune cholangitis. In addition to demonstrating the damage that can be caused by the insidious nature of this disease, this case exemplifies the challenge of maintaining long-term remission with steroids and immunosuppressive therapy alone.
