  • Overview

    Patients with chronic kidney disease may be experiencing severe itch, known as CKD-associated pruritus (CKD-aP). Itching and related symptoms, such as reduced sleep and depression, may be causing a significant negative impact on their quality of life. Join our experts as they use real-world patient cases to illustrate how to identify and treat itch, provide relief from itch-related symptoms, and improve quality of life in your patients with CKD-aP.

    After participating in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

    • Differentiate chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus (CKD-aP) from other pruritic conditions commonly seen in patients with CKD
    • Develop strategies to incorporate validated CKD-aP screening and patient-reported outcome tools into routine assessment of patients with advanced kidney disease on dialysis
    • Develop patient-centered multidisciplinary management plans to improve the quality of life for patients with CKD-aP
  • Target Audience

    This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of nephrologists, nephrology advanced practice providers, dermatologists, and dermatology advanced practice providers, as well as all other physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare providers involved in managing patients with CKD-aP.

    In support of improving patient care, Global Learning Collaborative (GLC) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
