Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) involves more than just image acquisition and interpretation; it requires immediate integration of ultrasound findings with the patient’s clinical presentation. Join Dr. Taro Minami as he discusses how clinicians can incorporate POCUS into bedside assessment and why interpreting imaging findings without clinical context can lead to errors in diagnosis and patient care. Dr. Minami is the Chair of the Ultrasound and Chest Imaging Section at CHEST, the Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Kent Hospital, and a Professor of Medicine and Medical Science and Clinician Educator at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He’s also a Clinical Professor at Kyoto University and a Visiting Professor at Tokyo Women’s Medical Universityin Japan.
