Dr. Shira Johnson interviews Dr. Arjun Srinivasan, who is a Medical Epidemiologist from the CDC in Atlanta. His work is to diagnose and to prevent outbreaks of infections in the hospital and in the community. Learn about a resistant infection caused by Acinetobacter which is prolonging ICU stays across the country. Acinetobacter species has become increasingly difficult to treat due to the development of antibiotic resistance, and mortality and length of hospitalization are increased in a subset of patients.
