  • Overview

High levels of proteinuria are associated with a high risk of kidney failure in the future, both for IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). In fact, proteinuria levels can help predict disease progression, outcomes, and even optimal therapeutic approaches. Joining Dr. Gates Colbert to talk about the complex relationship between proteinuria and the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) slope in patients with IgAN and FSGS and how this link can impact our management approach is Dr. Jonathan Barratt, the Mayer Professor of Renal Medicine at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.
