Dr. Sherry Seethaler is a science writer and educator at University of California, San Diego. She writes a regular column for the San Diego Union Tribune, in which she answers readers' questions about science.
Dr. Seethaler holds an MS and master of philosophy in biology from Yale, and a PhD in science and math education from UC Berkeley.
She is the author of a book that provides a set of tools to help lay-people make sense of the science and health information they encounter in day-to-day life, titled, Lies, Damned Lies, and Science: How to Sort Through the Noise Around Global Warming, the Latest Health Claims, and Other Scientific Controversies. Her latest book is called Curious Folks Ask: 162 Real Answers on Amazing Inventions, Fascinating Products and Medical Mysteries.
