Sandeep Nathan, MD, MS is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL where he serves as Director of Interventional Cardiology and the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program as well as Co-Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at Boston University and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He completed his Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago, IL where he also served as the Chief Fellow. Following his cardiovascular training, Dr. Nathan earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research via an NIH K30 grant-funded program at Rush Graduate College. He subsequently remained on faculty at Rush Medical Center and Cook County Hospital for several years before transitioning into his current role at the University of Chicago. His clinical interests include complex coronary and peripheral vascular intervention, transradial approach in PCI, mechanical circulatory support and TAVR. His research interests include platelet biology, vascular thrombosis and antithrombotic therapies, interventional device therapies for complex PCI, intravascular imaging, and mechanical circulatory support. He currently serves as an investigator on several multicenter clinical trials and investigator-initiated research studies.
