Dr. Ronald Crossno is a national medical director for Odyssey Healthcare and VistaCare, and he is the medical director for VistaCare's office in Temple, Texas, a position he has held for over sixteen years. As national medical director, he has responsibilities assisting in the care of the nation's largest provider of hospice services, serving over 12,000 patients daily. Dr. Crossno is board certified in family medicine, and holds Certificates of Added Qualifications in geriatric medicine and hospice & palliative Medicine. He is a Certified Medical Director through the American Medical Directors Association.

Among his current responsibilities, Dr. Crossno is treasurer of the American Academy of Hospice & Palliative Medicine, serves on the AAHPM Executive Committee and as the AAHPM's alternate delegate to the American Medical Association. He also serves on the American Medical Directors Association's Ethics Committee and is president of the Texas Medical Directors Association.

Dr. Crossno is co-founder, past-president and current education committee chair of the Texas Academy of Palliative Medicine. He has been honored as an End-of-life Champion by the Texas Partnership for End-of-life Care and with the Community Service Award of the Texas Geriatrics Society.
