Ron Davis, MD

    Dr. Ronald M. Davis is the 2007-08 president of the American Medical Association, and director of the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. Dr. Davis is also an adjunct professor of epidemiology at University of Michigan.

    A preventive medicine specialist from East Lansing, Mich., Dr. Davis was first elected to the AMA board of trustees in 2001 and re-elected in 2005. He also served in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office on Smoking and Health from 1987 to 1991, and worked as chief medical officer in the Michigan Department of Public Heath from 1991 to 1995.
