Robert Lindsay, MD, PhD

    Dr. Lindsay is from the Helen Hayes Hospital in New York, where he is Chief of Internal Medicine.  As Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University, Dr. Lindsay has authored over three hundred journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters on osteoporosis pathophysiology and treatment. He is a graduate of the University of Glasgow where he received his BSc, MBChB, PhD, and FRCP. Dr. Lindsay is an Accredited Specialist in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology with the Royal College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition, a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.  Dr. Lindsay served on the Advisory Board to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) from 1990 through 1993.  He is a member of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research from whom he received the Bartter Award for excellence in clinical research in 1997.  He is a member of the International Bone and Mineral Society who awarded him the John G Haddad Award for clinical research in 2005.  He is also a member of the Endocrine Society, the American College of Physicians, the North American Menopause Society, the International Menopause Society, and is a member of the Board of Scientific Advisory of the International Osteoporosis Foundation.  He is the North American Editor of Osteoporosis International.  He is a past President of the National Osteoporosis Foundation, and the 1999 recipient of the Scientific Leadership Award of the Foundation.
