Robert J. Femia, MD, MBA, FACEP, is the chair emergency medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He has practiced emergency medicine for 17 years. His areas of interest and expertise include patient satisfaction and process improvement.

Prior to his work at Lenox Hill, Dr. Femia was medical director of emergency services at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Mich. He also has served as a clinical instructor of emergency medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine, the Yale School of Medicine, and the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut in 1988. His post-graduate training included a residency in emergency medicine at Michigan State University Affiliated Hospitals in Lansing, Mich., and an completion of an MBA degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
