Patrick Lowe, MD

    Dr. M. Patrick Lowe is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and director of the Gynecologic Oncology Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery Program. He is considered a national expert on robotic surgery for gynecologic cancers. Dr. Lowe has several educational videos on robotic surgery available on the internet via YouTube.com.

    He is a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group, Society of Gynecologic Oncology, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Additionally, he is an instructor for the advanced laparoscopy postgraduate course at the Society of Gynecologic Oncology annual meeting. He is board-certified in gynecologic oncology and obstetrics and gynecology.

    Dr. Lowe earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and did his gynecologic-oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California. He has served as a clinical instructor at the University of Southern California and the University of Tennessee prior to joining the faculty at Northwestern University.

    Dr. Lowe's robotic and laparoscopic surgical videos have been selected for presentation at national meetings of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, Society of Gynecologic Oncology, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Lowe has trained or proctored over 200 surgeons nationally and locally in robotic surgery. Additionally, he was one of the first gynecologic oncologists to receive certification on the da Vinci Surgical System in 2006 and performed the first robotic surgery for endometrial cancer in the Midsouth region of the United States.
