Michael Doll is a graduate of the George Washington University Physician Assistant Program, and the Norwalk/Yale New Haven Hospital Physician Assistant Surgical Residency Program. He also received a masters degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Physician Assistant Masters Program.

Since 1991, Mr. Doll has specialized in cardiothoracic surgery at the Geisinger Medical Center, in Danville, Pennsylvania. In addition to his clinical duties, he is the clinical improvement specialist in the division of Clinical Effectiveness, and is a member of the team responsible for implementing a pay-for-performance program for cardiac surgery and other subspecialties at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Mr. Doll is also the facilitator for the IV insulin, central line and cardiac care improvement teams.

Mr. Doll also serves as president of the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiovascular Surgery and the chair of the Quality Care Committee for the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
