Mark Herrmann, JD

    Mark Herrmann is a partner at the law firm of Jones Day, and a defense attorney for drug and device companies in product liability cases. Mark Herrmann has defended multidistrict litigation and hundreds of class actions filed throughout the federal and state court systems. In addition to product liability case, his experience embraces claims for securities fraud, consumer fraud, false advertising, and many other alleged violations of state and federal statutory and common law.

    Mark Herrmann has written more than 75 articles on legal topics that have appeared in publications ranging from The Wall Street Journal to the Tulane Law Review. He cohosts the Drug and Device Law Blog, the most widely read product liability blog on the Internet. From 1997 through 2007, Mark taught "Complex Litigation" as an adjunct professor of law at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He has lectured internationally on issues related to complex and high-profile litigation, and he is a frequent commentator on legal issues for the broadcast and print media. He has been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Investor's Business Daily, and he has appeared on Bloomberg TV and C-SPAN. He is also the author of the book, The Curmudgeon's Guide to Practicing Law, which became an instant cult classic among attorneys. The book was a finalist for a PMA Benjamin Franklin Award in 2007 and is among the ABA Publishing's best-selling books of all time.

    Mr. Herrmann is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School (Articles Editor, Law Review; Order of the Coif; magna cum laude 1983) and Princeton University (cum laude 1979).
