Dr. Laurie Benton is an orthopedic hospitalist at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. She and her supervisor, Dr. Charles Foulks, are the 2009 recipients of the Paragon Award given by the American Academy of Physician Assistants for the PA/Physician team of the year. Ms. Benton and Dr. Foulks received the award for slowing the progression of kidney disease. She is also an instructor for volunteer firefighters and medical responders.
