Dr. Kim Lebowitz is an assistant professor in surgery and cardiothoracic surgery with a conjoint appointment in the department of psychology and psychiatry at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. She is also the director and founder of the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The Institute educates doctors and patients about the role of emotions and behaviors in cardiac health, and conducts psychosocial evaluations of heart transplant patients prior to transplant surgery.  Dr. Lebowitz is one of the few cardio psychologists in the United States.
