Dr. Hertzberg was a board-certified physician in general internal medicine practice before completing a National Library of Medicine fellowship and graduate degree in Medical Informatics at the University of Minnesota, where he researched factors leading to successful implementation of information technology among physicians. Since 1994, he has worked largely in the consulting arena, developing disease state management programs, physician profiling systems, and electronic health records for clients ranging in size from Fortune 500 pharmaceutical giants to local and regional health care organizations. Dr. Hertzberg also teaches medical informatics at the University of Minnesota, where he is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Informatics.
