Dr. Jean Lud Cadet is chief of the molecular neuropsychiatry branch and former clinical director of the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Drug Abuse Intramural Research Program. Dr. Cadet is also an adjunct associate professor at University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Cadet's resarch interests include cellular and molecular neurotoxicology of drugs of abuse, cell death related genes and the toxicity of drugs of abuse, interactions of drug abuse and HIV, clinical neurobiology of drug abuse and addiction, clinical effects of co-morbid states of drug addiction and psychiatric disorders, the involvement of free radicals in neurodegeneration, Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia.
