Dr Morales is a primary care physician deeply rooted in a multicultural community committed to effectively implementing the concepts of modern internal medicine for the delivery of quality primary care, as well as educating fellow health care professionals and students. In addition to his faculty appointment, he is responsible for educating medical residents at several area hospitals, and he is a clinical instructor for nurse practitioner and physician assistant programs. Dr Morales is active in clinical research, with a focus on type 2 diabetes, obesity, and metabolic diseases, and has served as an investigator for several key clinical trials. He has numerous publications in well-recognized peer-reviewed procedural journals and sits on editorial boards for several journals. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, and is the vice chair of the lipids and cardiovascular disease oversight committee for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
