Eric D. Levens, MD
Eric D. Levens, MD

    Dr. Eric D. Levens is currently serving as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Public Health Services.  He has appointments both as an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology and a staff clinician at NICHD at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences both in Bethesda, Maryland. 

    Dr. Levens received his bachelor's of science degree in biology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, graduating with highest distinction. His medical degree is from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.  Upon graduation, he completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Levens continued his training as a clinical fellow in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). 

    In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Levens is engaged in a clinical research masters program at Duke University and a research fellowship in genomics in the Laboratory of Clinical Genomics at NICHD. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a delegate for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine to the American Medical Association.

    Dr. Levens has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and several textbook chapters in the field of Reproductive Medicine and has presented numerous abstracts at national scientific meetings. He is also an ad hoc reviewer for Fertility and Sterility, Obstetrics and Gynecology,andMolecular Human Reproduction.
