Dr. Douglas Diekema is director of education at the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics, and professor in the division of bioethics, department of pediatrics, at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine.
Dr. Diekema received his MD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, in Madison, and went on to complete a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital. Dr. Diekema's clinical interests include pediatric ethics and wilderness medicine, and he focuses his research on bioethics.
