Dr. Dennis O'Leary is president of the Joint Commission, the Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based organization that accredits more than 15,000 health-care organizations from hospitals and nursing homes to physician practices. Later this year, he will end his more than two decade career as president of the Joint Commission and become president emeritus. He was once the physician for former President Ronald Reagan, after then commander-in-chief recovered from an assassin's bullet and O'Leary was responsible for communicating Reagan's care to an anxious public.
