Dr. Christopher Plowe is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geographic Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is Chief of the Malaria Section in the Center for Vaccine Development. His group studies the molecular mechanisms and molecular epidemiology of resistance to antimalarial drugs, particularly the antifolate drugs and chloroquine.
