Christopher J. Kratochvil, M.D. is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Clinical Research, Chief Medical Officer for UNeHealth, and a Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is also Assistant Director of the Psychopharmacology Research Consortium at UNMC.
Board certified in Psychiatry as well as Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Kratochvil received both his Bachelor of Arts and medical degrees from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed a residency in Psychiatry at the Creighton-Nebraska Joint Residency Program. He went to Duke University Medical Center, where he completed a residency in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and served as Chief Resident from 1996 to 1997.
Dr. Kratochvil has authored or co-authored over 100 manuscripts, and recently co-edited Pediatric Psychopharmacology: Principles and Practice, 2nd Edition, Oxford Press, 2011. Dr. Kratochvil's research interests include pediatric psychopharmacology, with an emphasis on the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and depression.
