Bruce W. Bode, MD, is a diabetes specialist with Atlanta Diabetes Associates in Atlanta, Georgia, and is currently on the faculty of Emory University, as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and a fellowship in diabetes with Paul C. Davidson, MD.

He has a strong affinity for working with children and young adults with diabetes and is considered one of the leading experts in the world on insulin delivery and glucose sensing. He has served on the board of directors of the Georgia chapters of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), and the Georgia diabetes camps. He is a past president of the ADA Georgia Affiliate, editor of the ADA's 2004 edition of Medical Management of Type 1 Diabetes, and a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.

Dr. Bode continues to be very active in investigational research with NIH and most pharmaceutical companies involved in the development of diabetes medication and products including the prevention of type 1 diabetes and the development of the Artificial Pancreas. As a result, many investigational trials are available at Atlanta Diabetes Associates.

A prolific writer, Dr. Bode has written or contributed to several other books, including Diabetes DEK-How to Control and Manage Diabetes Mellitus and The Insulin Pump Therapy Book: Insights From the Experts. In addition, he has written or co-written 200 articles and abstracts for professional journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Diabetes Technology and Therapeutics, The Journal of New Developments in Clinical Medicine, Diabetes Metabolism Research and Reviews, and Diabetes Spectrum.
