Anthony Busti, PharmD
Anthony Busti, PharmD
    Dr. Busti is an associate professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy, a clinical pharmacist specialist in internal medicine at the Dallas VA Medical Center (DVAMC), and a diplomate of the Accreditation Council for Clinical Lipidology. He is also the program director for both the Pharmacotherapy and Internal Medicine Specialty Residencies at the DVAMC and the pharmacist-in-charge for the Texas Tech University-operated Class D pharmacy at the Central Dallas Ministries Clinic in Dallas, Texas. In addition, he is also an adjunct professor at Texas Woman's University College of Graduate Nursing, where he teaches pharmacotherapeutics to graduate students in the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Program.

    His current clinical practice includes working on an inpatient internal medicine team along with physicians from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Busti also has his own outpatient pharmacotherapy clinic where he receives consults related to HIV, chronic pain, HTN, CHF, Hyperlipidemia, diabetes, anticoagulation, COPD, and smoking cessation.

    In 2003, he was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the State of Texas’ first Pharmaceutical & Therapeutics Committee and was reappointed in 2005 for another two-year term. In May 2005, Dr. Busti was appointed by Executive Commissioner Albert Hawkins to chair the Drug Utilization Review (DUR) Board for the State of Texas. In addition, he also serves as a member to the Board of Governors for the Accreditation Council for Clinical Lipidology (ACCL), Board Member for the National Lipid Associate and the Southwest Lipid Association, Core Faculty for the Masters in Lipidology: Advanced Training and Board Review course, member of the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Continuing Education Planning Committee for the American Heart Association, and is a pharmacology reviewer for the AHA’s Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) guidelines and supporting materials. He is also a contributing author to the 2006 AHA ACLS Professional Provider Manual, 2004 and 2006 ACLS Guidelines Handbooks. He is also an active member of NLA, ACCL, ACCP, D/FW ACCP, ASHP, TSHP.
