Allegra Broft, MD
Allegra Broft, MD

    Dr. Allegra Broft is assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at Columbia University, research psychiatrist at the Eating Disorders Research Unit of the New York State Psychiatric Institute, and a psychiatrist in private practice in New York City.

    Dr. Broft received her bachelor's degree in biology at Yale University and her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She subsequently completed her general psychiatry residency training at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia and the New York State Psychiatric Institute, where she received the Barbara Liskin Prize in Psychiatry. 

    Dr. Broft's academic interests have led her to become a 2006 recipient of a Junior Investigator Award from the National Alliance for Research in Schizophrenia and Depression, and a 2008 K23 awardee from the National Institute of Mental Health. She has authored and co-authored several articles in leading psychiatric journals such as the International Journal for Eating Disorders, Biological Psychiatry and Neuropsychopharmacology.
