Suntegrity Recalls Multiple Lots of Sunscreen Foundation

Suntegrity Foundation Recall
06/13/2024

Suntegrity Skincare has announced that it is recalling nine lots of Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation (Multiple Shades) due to the discovery of a higher-than-acceptable microbiological mold count (Aspergillus sydowii), according to an FDA alert.

According to the manufacturer, the affected lots may be contaminated with Aspergillus sydowii, a fungus that could potentially cause an allergic skin reaction and related symptoms. Additionally, if used on open wounds or sunburned skin, it could serve as the primary cause of a fungal skin infection. The manufacturer's investigation revealed that the mold had developed in some tubes in Lot 115BU. Out of an abundance of caution, the manufacturer is also voluntarily recalling the following lots: 107IV, 107NU, 109NU, 117BU, 113SA, 114SA, 106BR, and 101MO.

All consumers and distributors of the affected product have been advised to cease use immediately. No adverse events had been reported at the time of recall. Consumers should contact their care providers if they have problems with this or other sunscreen drug products.
