Skin Cancer Champions Launches Integrated Public, Private Community
The Skin Cancer Champions organization, led by dermatologists Emily Ruiz, MD, MPH, and Chrysalyne Schmults, MD, MSce, FAAD, announced the official launch of its integrated public and private community at skincancerchampions.org.
The public platform expands the group’s reach by offering education, resources, and newsletters with a clear pathway for individuals to join the private community for deeper, more personal connections.
The private community, the group says, remains focused on supporting patients and caregivers throughout their journey.
“We have integrated patients and caregivers into one core group, while also building private Conversation Centers—safe spaces where individuals with similar diagnoses can connect and share,” Skin Cancer Champions said in a press release. “Medically accurate content has always been a cornerstone of our mission. To improve access, we have redesigned our educational resources into an Education Hub for easier browsing and learning.”
The organization also announced that Emily Karn will be responsible for content committee, clinician relationships, and strategic moderation support for additional patient panels and web events, while Noah Ayertey will be the new Community Director. Ayertey is a recent addition to the team, bringing experience in SEO, social media, community management, and Skin Cancer Champions’ new platform, WIX.
Vikki Kolbe and Patricia Gilligan will continue in their role as Partnership support and Advisors to Dr. Ruiz and the Community Team.
