Senolytic Skincare Platform Backed by First Peer-Reviewed Study

Robles BioCeutics, a regenerative dermatology company focused on senolytic and stem cell–inspired approaches, has published its first peer-reviewed article in The Journal of Translational Medicine, validating the scientific basis of its proprietary skin regeneration platform.
The publication, titled “Unleashing Endogenous Regeneration by Senolytics,” outlines a novel framework for enhancing tissue repair by reducing the burden of senescent cells—aging cells known to impair the body's natural repair mechanisms. The authors propose that senolytic therapies may enhance regeneration by removing these inhibitory cells, thereby enabling progenitor cells to function more effectively.
While regenerative strategies have traditionally focused on boosting progenitor activity, the authors argue that addressing the accumulation of senescent cells is equally critical.
“We propose an alternative, complementary mechanism: that age-associated accumulation of senescent cells contributes to impaired regeneration through the secretion of ‘anti-regenerative’ factors,” the authors write.
The paper suggests that combining senolytics with interventions that activate endogenous repair pathways could yield synergistic benefits across multiple tissue types, including skin.
This foundational research supports Robles BioCeutics’ development of GlowSelle™, a patent-pending formulation that incorporates both senolytic mechanisms and stem cell–inspired signaling to promote skin renewal and resilience. According to Maria Robles, CEO and President, the publication “is a validation of the science we have spent time building and the direction we believe regenerative dermatology must move toward.”
Santosh Kesari, MD, a contributor to the study and founder of Asthra Health, emphasized the dual-action nature of the company’s approach:
“I am truly excited to collaborate with Robles BioCeutics as the company continues to advance this innovative platform," said Dr. Kesari. "While many in the beauty and dermatology industry focus solely on stimulating regeneration, this approach goes a step further by also reducing senescent cells that can inhibit the body's natural repair processes. Addressing both sides of the aging equation is a powerful strategy and I believe Robles BioCeutics is paving the way for a new generation of regenerative skin solutions."
