Podium has announced the launch of an artificial intelligence (AI)–driven operating system designed specifically for aesthetic practices, positioning the platform as a unified alternative to the fragmented software ecosystems common in cosmetic dermatology practices. The company describes the product as the industry’s first AI operating system for aesthetics, integrating electronic medical records, patient communications, marketing automation, and lead management into a single system.

According to a press release, aesthetic practices often rely on multiple disconnected platforms to manage scheduling, communications, and marketing, contributing to workflow inefficiencies and delayed responses to patient inquiries. The new system is built around an AI assistant, Avery, which is embedded across the platform and has access to scheduling, patient history, services, and communications data.

Company representatives characterize the launch as part of a broader shift from software that functions primarily as a digital record-keeping tool to systems designed to execute tasks autonomously. In practice, Avery is designed to respond to inbound inquiries from channels such as web forms, text messages, and phone calls; schedule appointments based on provider, room, and equipment availability; and manage elements of the patient journey, including reminders, intake forms, review requests, and post-treatment instructions.

With the latest iteration, Avery 2.0, practices can customize workflows and communication styles to align with their internal protocols. Podium states that this configurability is intended to allow practices to maintain consistency with established clinical and operational standards while automating administrative tasks.

The company framed the platform as a response to growing operational complexity in aesthetic medicine, where practices are increasingly balancing patient experience, staffing constraints, and business growth. As AI-enabled tools continue to expand in health care administration, their real-world impact on efficiency, staff workload, and patient satisfaction will likely be an area of ongoing evaluation.
