BD Launches Three-Tube Vacutainer Urine Kit

BD reports the launch of the Vacutainer® Urine Complete Cup Kit, a three-tube collection system for a single urine specimen. The system is intended to preserve urine sample integrity while supporting more than one type of downstream testing from a single specimen.

The release lists a sterile urine cup and lid with an integrated transfer device, plus three tubes and a wipe. The tubes are described as supporting culture and sensitivity testing for detecting and identifying bacteria or fungi causing infection, urinalysis testing for general wellness and signs of disease, and a discard tube that contains no additive. The kit also includes a castile wipe for patient prep prior to providing the sample.

For laboratory fit, BD’s release states the kit is compatible with a broad range of diagnostic equipment and can support automated workflows, framing this as an operational feature rather than a claim about specific assay performance.
