U.S. Anesthesia Partners and Nova Southeastern University have launched the USAP Center for Anesthesia Education and Leadership to expand supervised training and leadership development for anesthesia clinicians — targeting more than 1,500 trainees over the next decade, per the NSU announcement.

The center is built to increase training capacity beyond traditional single-site programs by creating a coordinated, nationwide curriculum. That structure permits standardized leadership coursework and coordinated clinical rotations across diverse practice settings, and it sets the 1,500-clinician target as a clear operational metric guiding early implementation.

According to the announcement, core components include formal clinical rotations organized across USAP sites, research opportunities through NSU’s clinical research division, mentorship from USAP clinical leaders, and leadership and business coursework developed with NSU’s business college. The program also lists an Innovation Challenge, a lecture series, and career-pathway workshops as key offerings; these items describe program elements rather than evaluated outcomes.

Operationally, USAP will coordinate student placement across its national network to provide specialty rotations and broader geographic exposure. The announcement notes USAP already places more than 700 aspiring anesthesia clinicians in supervised roles each year, a footprint the center intends to scale. Given the distributed-hub and mentorship model, early gains are most likely to appear as increased throughput and expanded leadership exposure rather than an immediate resolution of national workforce shortages.
