Allergan Aesthetics Expands Training Network with New AMI Center in Austin
Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, has announced the opening of a new Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) training center in Austin, Texas, expanding its US educational footprint for aesthetic providers. The facility represents the third AMI Training Center launched in the within the past year, joining existing locations in Irvine, California, and Atlanta, Georgia.
According to the company, AMI Austin is designed as an interactive training environment offering a combination of didactic education and hands-on instruction. The curriculum spans clinical, consultative, and business-focused content, with training opportunities tailored to providers at different stages of experience. Areas of focus include advanced injection techniques, complication management, and practice development, as well as education across Allergan Aesthetics’ product portfolio, including facial injectables, body contouring, and skincare.
The center will operate under the direction of Saami Khalifian, MD, a double board-certified dermatologist and medical director for AMI Training Centers. In a company statement, Glen Curran, senior vice president of US Allergan Aesthetics, said the expansion is intended to increase access to structured training and support clinical proficiency among aesthetic providers.
AMI Training Centers are positioned by the company as hubs for peer-to-peer learning and skills development, with an emphasis on translating scientific concepts into clinical practice. Allergan Aesthetics noted that insights gathered from programming and participant feedback at the Austin location may inform future iterations of its training model.
