Aesthetic Record, a widely used electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management platform in aesthetics, has announced its acquisition of JOYA Health, a company focused on employer-sponsored skin health benefits. The transaction underscores a broader trend toward specialized, consumer-driven health benefits that extend beyond traditional medical coverage.

JOYA Health connects employees to dermatologic and aesthetic services through employer-funded or subsidized programs. According to the company, its model has demonstrated relatively high engagement, reporting approximately 40% utilization among employer groups, including large corporations and public-sector organizations. These figures, while notable, have not been independently verified.

The combined platform is designed to integrate employer populations directly with credentialed providers using Aesthetic Record’s infrastructure. This model aims to replace fragmented referral and acquisition pathways with a centralized system in which employees are matched to vetted clinicians offering services such as skin cancer screenings, neuromodulator injections, laser treatments, and other procedures.

Company representatives stated that the acquisition may support practice growth by providing participating clinicians with a more consistent patient pipeline, while also expanding access to dermatologic care through employer-sponsored benefits. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This is a meaningful step toward truly connected care,” said Justin Harper, MD, founder of Aesthetic Record. “JOYA bridges employers and providers in a way that hasn’t existed at scale.”
